  Change in the estimated number of adults with net wealth above one million US dollars between year ends; not first-time individual threshold crossings. Financial and non-financial assets (particularly housing) minus debts; private pension funds included. State pension entitlements only if fully funded. Human capital and public assets/debts excluded. Children's wealth is assigned to parents. Year-end values in US dollars at the respective year-end exchange rates; asset and exchange-rate changes affect the threshold. UBS/PwC estimates, not an official census. The methodology uses macroeconomic variables. Only the 31 absolute annual changes published in the table on page 20 are included; other countries remain unknown, including 25 further markets in the UBS sample. A point is one unit of annual net change, not an identified person or an actual location or time. Decreases remain negative. Earlier editions are not comparable because of revisions. No differences calculated from rounded stocks in different editions. The displayed sum is a subtotal of documented countries, not a complete world figure.
